Deer, painted bunting favorites for SC wildlife-themed license plate

Recent legislation allows the S.C. Carolina Department of Natural Resources to create a series of wildlife-themed license plates. More than 5,000 people responded to the survey questions to tell us what plate they liked best, and if they would purchase one.

Survey results show that people favor the deer with dusk background and the painted bunting plates. The S.C. Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is working with the S.C. Department of Motor Vehicles to get both plate designs finalized and available for purchase.

Funding DNR receives from the sale of wildlife-themed license plates is used to conserve South Carolina’s wildlife and to improve habitat where wildlife live.
